Willamette Girlchoir is comprised of the following four choirs:
Vivace (Begininning):
Serving our youngest choir members, kindergarten thru third grade. There is no audition requirement for Vivace and all who love to sing are welcome. Given the young age of these singers, WGC offers
semester-based commitments (fall and spring).
Dolce (Intermediate):
The youngest of our auditioned choirs, Dolce includes girls in the third thru sixth grades. As is the case with all of our auditioned choirs, Dolce members have an annual commitment (fall thru
spring).
Bellissima (Advanced):
Also an auditioned choir, Bellissima includes girls sixth grade through ninth grade. This age width is determined by experience and vocal stability.
Bella Voce (Advanced):
Ambassadors of WGC, Bella Voce is an auditioned choir of our most advanced high school singers.
Music: We perform music of varied cultures, in varied languages from many time periods throughout music history.
Theory: We incorporate music theory in our rehearsals and encourage all singers in grades 6-12 to take advantage of the opportunity.
Ear Training: We endeavor to include in each rehearsal a program of training primarily through the use of "solfege" that will allow each student an opportunity to develop their personal skills of sight reading.
